Each KSD unit comprises 6 poles plus 2 auxiliary early-break contacts and is designed for motor-driven, high-risk applications where 'on-load' isolation of machinery is required or lengthy maintenance periods are likely. Since they can be used by unskilled personnel, the switches reduce the demands placed on electricians and maintenance staff during normal operational shutdown times.
