	Castell Safety International CastellPresse PIGMENT MIXERS TURN TO BEMF SAFETY SYSTEM FOR INCREASED SAFETY 28/11/2005 14:43 GMT+0100 Castell Safety International Ltd. has just supplied a new concept in safety access systems into the Ferro (G.B) Ltd. plastics division mixing plant in Aldridge, West Midlands. Following an internal assessment of the plant by Ferro, Castell were approached by Phil Marfel, Maintenance Manager at Ferro GB, to advise and subsequently design a safety system to ensure that access to nine pigment mixers could be prevented whilst mixer blades were still rotating. With the mix load being variable, a single run-down time could not be specified, introducing a challenging aspect to the safety system that needed to be accounted for.
